Photo of the Day: Denver Dress-up

I spent the weekend in Denver at two separate events. As always, I dressed up for both. For Smoky Hill's annual HUGE craft fair, I came as Pernille, freckles and pink goggles included. It was funny to have people ask me if my hair was really that red!   At the Colorado Country Christmas event, I hung out with some of my fellow authors from the Colorado Author's League. I went with Idolette's flair, one day showing up with straight jet black hair, another day with vibrant pink.  ...

Photo of the Day: Albuquerque

Recently, I made a trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico. The landscape throughout the area seemed to change everywhere I went, which was crazy impressive! I'll post some of the photos I took for you to see.   Some areas of Albuquerque offered amazing views of the rest of the city and the mountains.   Albuquerque used to be (and, in some ways, still is) a bustling train hub. Some of the old train yards are no longer used as a main hub, so now "The Yards" employs itself as a cool spot for ...

Me and my costumes, part 3

The Gypsy You've seen my Idolette look and my Egyptian costume. Now, I'll tell you about my gypsy outfit. This costume is based on the "fortune-teller" Arthur meets in The Minotaur Riddle. She's called "gypsy" in the book because that's the name popularly used and what kids would understand. However, she would actually refer to herself as Roma. The Roma are a people who were originally nomadic, which shows in today's world because you can find groups of them not just in Greece and Romania, ...
