Title: The Best School Year Ever
Author: Barbara Robinson
Rating: 4 stars
The Best School Year Ever is a book about a bunch of sixth grade children who are a handful. The book begins on the first day of school after a boring summer. The only bad part about school is the five Herdman kids. For example, when one of our characters, Louella, was babysitting her little baby brother, the Herdmans took him and turned him into a marker board. Leroy Herdman was a prankster. He liked to pick on Charlie, who was younger than Louella. He said that he was bit by a snake, but everyone knew that it was just a foolish prank. During the PTA talent show, all the kids where daydreaming and had their heads in the sky. Eugene was in the talent show and he smashed walnuts on his forehead like a nutcracker. He had bumps on his head that looked like mountains. The Herdmans liked to ride the bus. They put turtles down little kids’ shirts, then no one would ride the bus. All the kids said it was doomed. As mean as the Herdmans were, one of the sisters actually was a polite little lady. When you start getting to know a mean family, there’s usually a little good. The moral is that you can’t just judge a family, you have to know every person in the family.
The Best School Year Ever is a book that will make your funny bone tickle. My favorite part is when there is walnut smashing. If I did it, my head would crack into two pieces. I love school and this is what I don’t want to be in. I’m not a toy for mean kids.
I recommend this book to people who like school and goofing off. It is a humorous book, so get ready to laugh. Beware, your mind can go on a ride where it has never been before. If you need a chuckle, read this book. Don’t slack off and get this book.

This book was ok. It depends on what types of different books you like. It was a little weird though. I think this book is fine for people who really like drama.
I would recommend this book to fourth, fifth, and sixth grade girls. Boys could read this too, but it would probably be a little weird for them.

Title: Diary of a Wimpy Kid – The Third Wheel
Author: Jeff Kinney
Rating: 4 stars
Diary of a Wimpy Kid – The Third Wheel is about a kid named Greg who is trying to impress some girls at school. He keeps on missing the chance to get a Valentine’s Day Dance partner, but one girl finally steps forward and goes with him. The only bad part is that Rowley, Greg’s best friend, is tagging along. He sets up to go to a restaurant and then the dance. When Greg gets to the restaurant, his clothes are all dirty from riding in the back of Rowley’s car. They go into the restaurant and there’s a sign that says “No Ties”, so the man clips Rowley’s tie. Then they have to sit next to a couple with a baby with a full diaper. The night is already getting pretty worse and they haven’t even got to the Valentine’s Days Dance. Will they make it through the night or will they bail before they even get to the dance? Find out when you read Diary of a Wimpy Kid – The Third Wheel.
I really like this book because it has a lot of funny parts, especially the beginning and the end. The end is really funny on how they survive getting through the night. Also I really like all the scams they try to come up with just to get a Valentine’s Day date.
I’d recommend this to everybody, but especially to boys because boys are like this sometimes. I know I am. It’s fun for all ages. You could be five or thirty. It’s still fun to read this really funny book.

Title: Matilda
Author: Roald Dahl
Rating: 5 stars
Matilda has rude parents that hate her guts. Especially when she puts super glue in her dad’s hat and made her mom freak out by putting a parrot in the chimney.
The Trunchbul is out for anyone that dares to step in her way. She nearly kills a couple of kid. One kid even got his ears stretched. Mrs. Honey has a wretched aunt that stole her house, her name is: The Trunchbul.
I love this book because it has great writing and lots of description. The way he makes a picture in your head is astonishing and the images are complex and it is one of those books that you can’t put down.
I would recommend this to 4th and 5th graders or as a read aloud book if you are a teacher.
